STATEMENTS TO BTV

At 18, João Neves display maturity in Benfica's midfield. Against SC Braga, in the Reds' 1-0 win, in a game from matchday 31 of the Liga Bwin, at Estádio da Luz, this Saturday, May 6, not even a yellow card seen in the 41st minute has taken away his drive and intensity.

It is "on the limits" that Benfica's team trains "every week". These are the words of the midfielder, who already has 333 minutes in the Championship - divided over 14 games - and who assures that "the team is united" and will be "together until the end".

A choice in Roger Schmidt's starting eleven in the last three matches, João Neves confesses that he is living his "dream", but the praising words are directed to the squad. "The individual is part of the collective. When the collective is very good, the individual players stand out," said the midfielder who was nurtured at the Club.

"We thank all the fans for their support. The emotion, the enthusiasm with which they live each game for us.... We just have to show it on the pitch for them to be happy."
