Tomás Franco Tavares, a 17-year-old defender, signed a professional contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica, valid for three seasons.

The defender, born on March 7, 2001, lived his 8th season playing for the eagles, arriving arrived in 2010/11, coming for the Fernando Chalana Soccer School.

He went through competition category of the Club and, in this 2017/18 season, he became U-17 National Champion. For the team led by Renato Paiva, he played in 26 matches and scored three goals, all scored in the Championship round.

He also won the U-15 National Title in 2015/16.

An international since November 2017, Tomás Tavares has racked up 14 caps, all in the U-17 national team.
