Sport Lisboa e Benfica continues to strengthen the women's football team having the 2018/19 season on the horizon. Born in Redondela (Spain), the winger Paula Domínguez Encina, who is nicknamed Pauleta, is the most recent signing of the Eagles.

It is a feeling of great honor and gratitude for the person who brought me here. The gaffer João [Marques] bet on me and is making me live this huge experience at one of the biggest clubs in the World and the Biggest in Portugal”, said the players, in statements to BTV.

Pauleta is 20 years old (11.08.1997), she played at the Spanish club El Olivo and at SC Braga last season. She now joins Benfica and is excited for the step given in her career.

“When the Spanish hear talk about the Portuguese football, Benfica is the most well-known because it is the one who has the best path in Europe and is the biggest one”, she stated.

In terms of objectives, Pauleta, who describes herself as "fierce and tough player, and who can read the game very well", reveals determination. "I want to grow a lot as a player here because I think it is the moment. I want to win titles with Benfica", she stressed.
