Adri joins Benfica

One more name secured for the 2018/19 season: Adriana Faria Gomes, or simply Adri, joins the women's football squad of Benfica. She is a forward, she is 24 years old and she arrives with the objective of winning all the competitions.

"It is a very food feeling to be able to fulfill another dream in my career because this is the highest level of the Portuguese football", revealed Adri in statements to BTV.

Adri started playing football when she was very young at Freamunde, having also represented Boavista, where she won a Portuguese Cup and SC Braga.

"I started my career roughly at the age of nine, at Freamunde. When I was 14 years old, it came up an invitation from Boavista; I accepted the invitation, I remained there for eight seasons and one year and a half ago, I received the invitation from Braga", said Adri.

As a player, she describes herself as "very combative" not giving "a ball as lost". She likes to score, but essentially she has "a great desire to help the team" fulfill its objectives.

Now that she wears the Sacred Mantle, Adri guarantees that the main objective is to win all the competitions.

"For someone who is at a club such as Benfica, one of the objective is to win all the competition we play in. We know that there are other teams, we have to respect them. We are Benfica, we know what we will work for and the objective is to win all the competitions", assured the forward.
