Therefore, the global recruitment strategy has as its main focus a full coverage in the Portuguese territory (mainland and islands), but also the search for young talents abroad, in line with international standards for this purpose.
Portuguese Players
In the categories of U-10 to U-19 Sport Lisboa e Benfica does not conduct trials through registration.
The players are usually observed in competition (at the club where they play), and may be invited to
train at SL Benfica, depending on the report prepared by their scout.
In the case of Portuguese players abroad, we kindly ask you to complete the questionnaire available at the link below so that our coaches can conduct an initial analysis/evaluation.

Foreign Players
According to FIFA's current legal framework (Circular N.º 1990), regarding the international transfer of underage players, foreign athletes who do not reside in Portugal are not allowed to join our club until the following ages:
- Age 16 for players belonging to the European Economic Area countries
- Age 18 for players from countries outside the European Economic Area
They can fill out the questionnaire available at the link below so that our coaches can perform an initial analysis/evaluation.
Notice: All evaluations made by the scouting department are confidential. Therefore, we will only continue the contact if the first evaluation is positive and there is interest in deepening the information about the player, in order to determine the possibility of training or integrating our competitive teams.
All youngsters interested (from Under-12 to Under-18) in optimizing their technical-tactical skills and obtaining a detailed report prepared by the Scouting Department and Youth Football can also participate in the Elite Training Camps.
