The best of March distinguished by Liga Portugal Betclic

DISTINCTIONS

Bruno Lage, Álvaro Carreras and Kökcü received on Tuesday, April 22, at the Benfica Campus, the prizes awarded by Liga Portugal for their performances in the Liga Betclic in March 2025.

During this period of competition, Bruno Lage was named Coach of the Month, Álvaro Carreras earned the distinction of Defender of the Month, and Kökcü was named Midfielder of the Month.

The eagles' helmsman received the majority of votes from his counterparts in the competition, with a total of 26.67%. During this period, Benfica played three matches, between March 8 and 28, winning against Nacional (home), Rio Ave (away) and Gil Vicente (away), 3-0, 2-3 and 0-3, respectively.

This season, remember, Bruno Lage had already been voted Coach of the Month in the Liga Betclic in February 2025 and November 2024.

Álvaro Carreras, as Defender of the Month, received 18.52% of the votes from the coaches. The Spanish left-back was a starter in the three games the Reds played and won in the league in March, against Nacional (home), Rio Ave (away) and Gil Vicente (away), and played 270 minutes.

For his part, Kökcü deserved 17.78% of the votes in the election for Midfielder of the Month. The Turkish international started in the Reds' three league games in March, against Nacional (home), Rio Ave (away) and Gil Vicente (away), playing a total of 227 minutes and scoring 2 goals.
