Scorer of the opening goal and voted Man of the Match, Aursnes considered that Benfica's 0-3 win at Gil Vicente, in a game in hand of round 24 of the Liga Betclic, rewarded the team that dominated the match from start to finish.

With a shot on the move inside the opponent's penalty area, the Norwegian midfielder opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and paved the way for three points that he considered fair given Benfica's “dominance” throughout the match.
"The start of the game was good, and I think we dominated the game from the first half. It was a good game and, in the end, three points. We had good possession, created good chances, were very effective and didn't concede any great opportunities. So I think it was a good display," said Aursnes, in statements to Sport TV.
When asked about the schedule and climbing to the top of the table, level on points with Sporting, the Eagles' No. 8 stressed the importance of every game until the end of the season, starting with the home game against Farense next Wednesday, April 2 (8:15 pm).
"Every game is very important, so we're just focused on each game and doing our best. Now, we have the same number of games, so we're going to focus on the match against Farense," he claimed.
According to data from the Sofascore platform, Aursnes performed 69 actions with the ball, had a pass efficiency of 95% (55 successes in 58 attempts) and took 3 shots, 2 of them on target. These figures, coupled with his 2nd Liga Betclic goal, earned him the Man of the Match award.
"We're focused on ourselves, andwe have to build on this momentum. We're doing well and we just have to keep going and fight until the end," he concluded.
