Gerson Sousa was voted the Best Young Player of January in Liga 2 by the Players' Union.

Last month, the 22-year-old forward/winger, who has since been loaned to Estrela da Amadora, stood out for Benfica B, starting in all three games against FC Porto B (he scored a goal in the 2-1 win), Leixões (he scored twice in the 4-0 triumph) and Torreense (1-1).

With three goals in three games for the Reds, Gerson Sousa received 13.44% of the votes on a podium made up exclusively of players from the Eagles. Nuno Félix gathered 11.79% of the votes and Hugo Félix had 11.38%.
