A superb night from the team at the Estádio da Luz resulted in Benfica beating Rio Ave 5-0 on Matchday 9 of the Liga Betclic.

Aktürkoğlu assinou um hat-trick
In an excellent team display, generating a veritable offensive avalanche, Benfica got back to winning ways at the Estádio da Luz after the Champions League match on Wednesday, October 23. Bruno Lage made one change from the starting eleven presented by the eagles in that match, with Beste coming into the team and Florentino starting as a substitute. The Eagles played Rio Ave with Trubin, Bah, Tomás Araújo, Otamendi, Álvaro Carreras, Aursnes, Kökcü, Di María, Beste, Aktürkoğlu and Pavlidis.
Galvanized, the Reds put their foot on the gas and after 16' they were already leading 2-0: Di María placed a long ball into the Rio Ave penalty box, where Aktürkoğlu leapt high and, with a slight deflection of his head, beat Miszta again. Maximum efficiency from the Turkish international, who has scored in every Benfica match at Estádio da Luz.
Before the break, in the 45th minute, it was Di María, in an insistent move, who took the ball to Aktürkoğlu, who, with a cross-shot, scored his first hat-trick for Benfica (3-0).
The score was sealed for good in the 81st minute, once again with the stamp of a player from the bench: Kökcü crossed into the penalty area and, in a dispute with Schjelderup, Omar Richards cleared the ball back to Amdouni, who, in a forward position, fired into the Vila Conte goal to make it 5-0.
Benfica will play again on Wednesday, October 30, at the Estádio da Luz, at 8:15 pm, for the quarter-finals of the League Cup, with Santa Clara as their opponent.
