Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Jéssica Silva have decided by mutual agreement to end their contractual relationship, with the footballer now moving on to a new stage in her career.

Jéssica Silva, who enjoyed one of the most consistent phases of her career in the Glorioso jersey - 76 games and 37 goals in two and a half seasons - is heading back to the United States to sign for Gotham FC, through the partnership between SL Benfica and the 2023 NWSL champions.

As part of a strong, competent and ambitious team, the Portuguese international enjoyed an unforgettable period of glory at Benfica, which she hadn't experienced before, winning three National Championships, two League Cups, a Portuguese Cup and a Super Cup.

As a member of Benfica's women's football team, Jéssica Silva was also able to experience a period of enormous impact on the status and prestige of Portuguese football, which, benefiting directly from the good performances of the Inspiradoras in the most recent editions of the UEFA Women's Champions League, will already have two representatives competing in the competition that brings together Europe's elite for the first time this season.

It should be remembered that SL Benfica is currently in 10th place in the UEFA ranking of women's teams, a position that was unimaginable for a Portuguese club until a few years ago. The ambition and vision implemented by Glorioso have definitively changed the paradigm in Portugal.
