Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião
CONGRATULATIONS, BENFICA MUSEUM - COSME DAMIÃO!
It's a museum that researches, collects, conserves, communicates and exhibits, responding to the needs of today's public. The exhibition brings together 1,200 of the 37,000 objects that make up Sport Lisboa e Benfica's collection of cultural assets, organized into 4,000 m2 of exhibition space, divided into 29 thematic areas.
Always with an eye on current affairs, there is a constant concern that the contents of the exhibition are updated regularly, in order to keep up with the evolution of all the Club's sports.
In terms of visitor numbers, the Benfica Museum is one of the most visited museums in the country, having received around 930,000 visitors since its inauguration, including school visits, Benfica fans, different nationalities and the general public.
In order for the Benfica Museum to provide a service of excellence every day, various areas of Cultural Heritage collaborate, namely the Mediation and Education Service, the Documentation and Information Center, the Reserves, Conservation and Restoration Department, Curatorship and Production.
The promotion of the Club's history and memory is dynamic and versatile, through a series of programming initiatives for different audiences. In addition, the Museum's digital footprint has established it as one of the national cultural institutions with the largest number of followers on the various platforms.
Focusing on the present, the anniversary celebrations begin this Friday, July 26, with the guided tour Our Best Eleven and the opening of the New Legends exhibition area, dedicated to the women's professional football team. The festivities end on Saturday, July 27, with the From the Sticker Album to the Pitch initiative for a younger audience that hasn't been forgotten.
