Florentino scored the first goal of the match

POST-MATCH STATEMENTS

Analyzing Benfica's win over Farense (5-0) on Friday, July 12, in the first pre-season match, Florentino spoke of a "very positive game" in Águeda, where the team managed to put the dynamics requested by coach Roger Schmidt on the pitch.

In statements to BTV, the eagles' midfielder stressed that the result motivates the team to continue with the preparation work for 2024/25 carried out at the Benfica Campus.

"I think it was a very positive game from us, where we managed to put some of the dynamics in place that the manager asked for. Of course, there are still things to improve, but the result was very positive, and to score five goals without conceding any is very good, to begin with," said Florentino, who started the match against Farense at the Estádio Municipal de Águeda with the captain's armband.

Benfica's number 61 also highlighted the rapport that the team has acquired with the new additions in the first few days of the season.

"The team is settling in. There are some new players and, as I said before, the dynamics are being instilled in our heads. We're going step by step to achieve our goals," he said.

Recalling the shot from outside the box that made it 1-0 in the friendly on Friday, July 12, Florentino chose to praise the team's response and the result.

"It was a good goal. The ball was very hard and, thank God, it went in. The most important thing was the win," he concluded.
