Sport Lisboa e Benfica regrets the death of its former player, António Pacheco, and sends its deepest condolences to his family.

António Pacheco played for Benfica for six consecutive seasons, winning two championships, a Portuguese Cup and a Super Cup. Throughout his career, he was a fast, explosive left-winger who stood out for his assists and goals.

In all, he scored 69 goals in 269 games for Benfica's first team between 1987 and 1993. During that time, António Pacheco also played in two European Cup finals, in Stuttgart against PSV and in Vienna against AC Milan.

His dribbles, his goals and the titles he helped win are the legacy he leaves behind in the club's rich and incomparable history.

António Pacheco leaves us too soon, at the age of 57. So long, Pacheco.

Benfica-Arouca: extended match highlights

Proud and grateful to the Benfica fans and the club, the former striker - who wore the Manto Sagrado in 2005/06 and 2006/07 - was greeted with applause from the fans, who watched images of some of his best moments with the eagle on his chest, in this beautiful tribute! “Go Benfica! Always,” shared the former player.

A heartfelt tribute to José Augusto!

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.

On Saturday, April 12, the Inspiradoras celebrated winning the fifth national championship in a row after beating Valadares Gaia 0-3, on matchday 20 of the Liga BPI, with goals from Christy Ucheibe (29'), Cristina Prieto (42') and Beatriz Cameirão (75').
