Rafa, a Benfica player, was voted Best Player in the Liga Betclic in February, in an award promoted by the Players' Union.

In his four matches in the competition (against Gil Vicente, Vitória SC, Vizela and Portimonense), Rafa scored five goals and provided two assists.

The forward received 14.28% of the votes, ahead of Hjulmand (Sporting) and Simon Banza (SC Braga), with 12.73% and 12.71% respectively.
