The draw held on Tuesday, January 23, at Cidade do Futebol dictated the clash between Benfica's women's football team and Valadares Gaia in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup. This round matches are scheduled for the weekend of February 10 and 11.

After the matches against Famalicão (0-6) and Freamunde (0-6) in the round of 16 and 4th round, respectively, the Inspiradoras will host the current 7th place in the Liga BPI and also the opponent in the League Cup semi-finals: the eagles won by 4-1 in the 1st leg.

In the same draw, the semi-finals of the competition were also determined: if they beat the northerners, the team led by Filipa Patão will face the winner of Damaiense-Sporting.

Benfica is looking for its second Portuguese Cup in their history, after winning the trophy in the 2018/19 edition: a 4-0 win over Valadares Gaia at the Estadio Nacional.

Benfica-Arouca: extended match highlights

Benfica drew (2-2) with Arouca on Sunday, April 13, in a match from matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, played at the Estádio da Luz and marked by controversial refereeing that penalized the Eagles. At half-time there was time to pay tribute to two-time European champion José Augusto (who turned 88), Miccoli (the former player returned to the Cathedral) and the Inspiradoras, who became five-time national champions on Saturday.

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.
