Sport Lisboa e Benfica launches "The Champions Wall"

Sport Lisboa e Benfica has created an innovative project that promises to unite Club Members on an exciting journey through the most remarkable glories of the past and present. It's called "The Champions Wall" and it invites Benfica Supporters to choose their favorite players to make up a tribute wall in the Estádio da Luz.

The "The Champions Wall" is a unique initiative that puts to the vote all the players who represented the club at the current Estádio da Luz on the 20th anniversary of the venue's inauguration. From Friday, October 13, 2023, Benfica Members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite players, choosing from among the 278 who meet the selection criteria.

To ensure a fair and democratic choice, Members will vote for their ideal eleven. All Members with up-to-date membership fees will receive an email to vote, with access to a dedicated online platform, accessible via https://www.slbenfica.pt/fas/mural-dos-campeoes. Voting will be active until October 20, 2023.

Once the election is over, the 20 most-voted players will be immortalized in a unique mural to be unveiled on October 25, 2023, the date that marks the 20th anniversary of the Estádio da Luz. This mural will be more than just a printed image, it will be a special photo-mosaic made up of thousands of photographs of Benfica's Members and fans. Each photo will be carefully placed to create an overall image of the chosen players, in a unique mural that will be displayed in the Estádio da Luz.

After the launch of the Mural of Champions, members and fans will be able to buy their place in the final image by purchasing one of three products available at SL Benfica points of sale and then uploading their "Benfica style" photo. The software will automatically distribute the photos across the wall, ensuring a perfect visual composition and paying tribute to the players, but also to the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Members and fans.
