In his first words as an Eagles player, Arthur Cabral highlighted the opportunity to defend an emblem with a lot of tradition.
"For me, being able to play for Benfica means a lot. I have a great opportunity to wear a heavy jersey and achieve my goals," said the striker to BTV.

Praising the conquest of the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, the new signing for 2023/24 assured that he wants to help the team win more titles. "I arrived with a whiff of title, and it's good to breathe that. One of my goals is to be part of Benfica's history, help my teammates and be able to celebrate, like they did yesterday [Wednesday, August 9]," he said.
"Espero dar o melhor de mim, ajudar a equipa e sentir-me bem. I hope to do my best, help the team and feel good. I am in a wonderful country, in a good city, and I have been very well received. I'm really looking forward to it."
THE CAREER OF THE NEW FORWARD OF THE GLORIOSO
Nurtured at Ceará, the striker made his debut for the first team on July 15, 2015, in the first leg of the 3rd round of the Brazilian Cup against Tupi (0-0). A week later, the striker, then 17, made history by becoming the youngest ever to score in a domestic competition for the club: coming off the bench, he made it 2-1 in the second leg, at 90'+4'.
In 2017, in his first season as a full member of the elite of the Ceará emblem, Arthur Cabral scored five goals in 22 games and his "explosion" occurred the following year, when he finished the season with 24 shots in 55 games and ended up transferred to Palmeiras. In São Paulo, the striker scored on his debut against Grémio Novorizontino, but lost space to Dudu, Luiz Adriano and Borja and ended up on loan to Basel for the 2019/20 season.
In Switzerland, Arthur Cabral proved to be a serious success story. After a season where he finished with 18 goals in 39 games, the player was acquired permanently by Basel for €6 million and, in 2020/21, added 20 goals to his tally, becoming the Brazilian with the most goals scored in European football and attracting the attention of coach Tite.
In October 2021, due to Matheus Cunha's injury, Arthur Cabral was called up to the Brazil national team for the matches against Venezuela and Colombia, qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. The now Benfica new addition did not make his debut for the national team and returned to Switzerland to continue an impressive first half of the 2021/22 season. With 27 goals in 31 games for Basel, the native of Campina Grande, Paraíba, was transferred in the first days of January 2022 to Fiorentina, for €15.5 million.
Signed to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who had left for Juventus, the striker only scored two goals in the 17 games he played until the end of that season. In 2022/23, already established as an important piece in Vincenzo Italiano's 4x2x3x1, the Brazilian striker proved to be up to the challenge of becoming a reference in the Viola attack and scored 17 goals in 41 games. Seven of those strikes made him the top scorer in the Conference League last season, where Fiorentina only lost in the final to West Ham.
