"We made the adjustments we had to make, we went in with the same attitude, at maximum, and we scored the goals," he said, admitting he felt "good" in the starting eleven.
"My goal is to give everything for the Club, and you can have no doubt about that," he added, between thanks to the Glorioso fans. "They are fantastic, and that's why this club is giant", he summarized.
"It's a trophy we've lifted, but in the Championship, the race is longer. We'll do everything to win it again"
João Neves
For João Neves, "all victories are important", but winning this Super Cup was "special". "It's a trophy we've lifted, but in the Championship, the race is longer. We will do everything to win [the Championship] again", he concluded.
"It's always good to win, we were the better team, and on Monday [with Boavista, in the Liga Betclic kick-off], we will go back to work and play to win," João Neves told reporters.
In individual terms, the motto is given: "My goal is to give the maximum on the pitch. I gave my life for Benfica." Asked about Di María, who is returning to the Reds, João Neves was clear: "He is an excellent player. He helps like any other, and we are grateful that he is here".
