Mihailo: "New season and new goals!"

With the intensity of pre-season, specifically the training match against Southampton (0-2), clearly visible in his left eye, Mihailo recalled that in a "new season everyone starts from scratch".

"It's a new season, everyone starts from scratch. It's up to me to work hard, everything is open, I don't have to worry about whether I play or not. I felt really good [against Southampton]. It had been a while since I was last on the pitch. The first 45 minutes of this pre-season went well. There's a long way to go", he said, commenting on the addition of Jurásek: "I didn't know him, but to be at Benfica you have to have quality".

"Di María had already been at Benfica. He's back home! The feeling is that they [the new signings] have been here forever. From day 1 it's like they've been here for six months. They are also very happy to be here", he stressed.

For the 2023/24 season, the left-back also understands that the label of favorite that can be placed on Benfica has no reason to be, this with regard to the comparison with the main domestic rivals.

"We are not favorites, we all start from scratch. What's in the past stays in the past. The new season is here.
