The left-back David Jurásek, 22, is a new addition to the professional football team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The Czech international arrives at the Club coming from Slavia Prague and signs a contract valid for five seasons, until 2028.

"I believe it is the right club to play for, and it is one of the biggest clubs in Europe", mentioned Jurásek.

With the Sacred Mantle, Benfica's new signing assumed he was "a very offensive left-back". "I hope to show that to the fans", he said.

"I will work hard to make everyone proud of me and I want to help the team win every trophy possible", he claimed.

THE CAREER OF THE GLORIOSO NEW FULL-BACK 

David Jurásek started playing football at the academy FK Dolní Nemci, in 2007. He remained there until 2009, when he began a new stage in his footballing career at 1. FC Slovácko, a club he represented for six seasons.

In 2016/17, he moved to FC Zbrojovka Brno, and it was with the club from the Czech Republic's second-largest city that David Jurásek made his professional debut.

On July 1, 2020, in the last minute of the match against Dulka Prague, he made his first first-team appearance and went on to make five more in the Second Division before taking up a new challenge.

In 2020/21, already with the colors of 1. SK Prostejov, he stood out in 25 matches, with three goals scored and more than 1400 minutes of playing time.

Benfica

Mladá Boleslav made a move for David Jurásek in July 2021, and it only took six months, in which he made 18 appearances and scored three goals, for Slavia Prague to swoop for him.

In Prague, David Jurásek still shared the dressing room with Bah, Benfica's right-back, and in the last season, in 2022/23, he won his first trophy for the club: the Czech Cup.

He played 55 games for Slavia Prague. Of these games, 44 were last season, more than 3,300 minutes on the pitch, and in which he scored two goals, data from a season of affirmation and which earned him a call-up to the Czech national team.

It was against Poland, on March 24, 2023, that he made his debut with the Czech Republic. He played as a starter and contributed to the 3-1 win with an assist. David Jurásek already had a history with his country's youth teams, with eight internationals, two at U-17 and six at U-21. Now, he has three caps for the senior national team, this at the time of signing the contract with Benfica.
