The pre-season 2023/24 has already started!

Sport Lisboa e Benfica's professional football team kicked off the 2023/24 season on Wednesday, July 5.

Here's day 1 of the 2023/24 season of the team led by Roger Schmidt! The start of pre-season began in the early hours of the morning and was dedicated to medical examinations and physical tests.

Distributed by groups, the athletes will undergo clinical evaluations at Hospital da Luz and tests at Benfica Campus, fulfilling one of the procedures of the protocol for the resumption of activities.

On this first day, 30 players reported for work:

Goalkeepers: Samuel Soares, Leo Kokubo, André Gomes and Marcel Mendes.

Defenders: Bah, Lucas Veríssimo, João Victor, Mihailo, Tomás Araújo, Rafael Rodrigues, António Silva and Morato.

Midfielders: Neres, Aursnes, Kökcü, Meïte, Paulo Bernardo, João Mário, Chiquinho, Tiago Dantas, Martim Neto, Florentino and João Neves.

Forwards: Tengstedt, Schjelderup, Rafa, Musa, Henrique Araújo, Tiago Gouveia and Gonçalo Ramos.

Having been duly authorized, goalkeeper Odysseas will arrive on the 7th and center-back Otamendi on the 11th.
