HIGHLIGHTS

Benfica drew this Wednesday, April 19, at Inter (3-3) and concluded its journey in the Champions League. The score of the 2nd leg, conditioned by a major error from the officiation team, was not enough to comeback from the first game result (0-2) at Estádio da Luz and now it is time to focus on the Liga Bwin.

At 14', Dzeko assisted Barella who combined with Lautaro Martínez, leaving Grimaldo behind, dribbled Chiquinho and António Silva and scored the opener (1-0). 

At 38', Florentino found Rafa alone on the right, and the winger made a perfect cross for Aursnes' head. The Norwegian did not miss andbeat Onana (1-1).

In the 2nd half, Roger Schmidt called Neres to replace Gilberto and Aursnes moved to the right-back position

At 54', after a corner-kick, Aursnes was clearly touched by Lautaro Martínez on his left foot when preparing the shot. Nevertheless, the referee did not give the penalty, and VAR did not step in. Another controversial decision, after the one taken by Michael Oliver and VAR in the 1st leg, when Gonçalo Ramos was fouled by Bastoni inside the box.

With great effectiveness, Inter scored the second one at 65': Dimarco combined with Mkhitaryan who served Lautaro to conclude the play (2-1).

At 78', it was Inter to score again by Correa (3-1).

António Silva scored the 3-2 at 86', with a header which gave no chances for Inter’s goalkeeper, after a free-kick taken by Grimaldo. At 90'+5', the Spaniard was decisive again and overcame Brozovic to assist Musa, who put the ball on the back of the net (3-3). Final score.

Benfica closed its participation in the Champions League with only 1 loss in 10 games and 26 goals scored, a record only matched by Napoli and Manchester City in this period.
