"We had the match under control": the players' reactions

Otamendi and Gonçalo Guedes considered that Bah's send-off at 31' of the match was relevant in the outcome of the match (defeat in the penalty shootout) of the Portuguese Cup quarter-final, which Benfica played at Braga's home ground, this Thursday, February 9. 

Otamendi and Gonçalo Guedes regretted the elimination, but left words of confidence for Benfica's next matches. "We must continue to play good football", mentioned the Argentinian, in tune with the reds' number 15. "We will remain focused," he assured.

Overall, we played an intelligent game, we defended well and were also able to attack, with players in the attack and with ball possession. "The game was completely under control and after 15 minutes we scored the first goal of the match. After the send-off, the game changed completely and we were forced to defend more. We wanted to score, but it was complicated. Braga has a good team. We gave everything and we will remain focused. The Portuguese Cup was a great objective that we had. Unfortunately, we didn't get it. Now we are going to do everything to continue in the best way, both in the Championship and in the Champions League."
