Linked to the Club for eight seasons, the young goalkeeper André Gomes (18 years old) has renewed his contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The new contract for the player, who is already part of the professional football first-team squad, is valid until 2028.

"Benfica has confidence in me for the future. I want to take advantage of every moment to evolve, to grow, to then be better prepared as a professional and as a person", claimed the goal stopper to BTV.

Bor in Ponte de Lima, André Gomes joined Benfica in 2015/16, a season in which he represented CFT Braga. The following season, 2016/17, he joined the Benfica Campus to, step by step, defend the Glorioso colors in the U-13s, U-15s, U-17s, U-19s, Under-23s and B Team, for which he recently made his debut, on January 22, 2023.

"Above all, I want to evolve, to take advantage of the space and the conditions, of all the greatness of the Club, to grow professionally and personally. I want to continue the work that I have been doing. I think it's going to be a bright future, but I cannot give up now, and I have to keep working", completed Benfica's number 75.

A youth international for Portugal since U-15, goalkeeper André Gomes contributed to winning the UEFA Youth League in 2021/22 and was part of the Benfica team that won the U-20 Intercontinental Cup.
