Three days later, Benfica beat Estoril again at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota (0-1), in the 4th round of the Portuguese Cup.

Benfica celebration
Two coaches with different strategies in the approach to the Portuguese Cup match. Roger Schmidt changed a piece in Benfica: Neres in place of Chiquinho; Nélson Veríssimo changed seven names in relation to the Championship clash: Dani Figueira, Pedro Álvaro, Tiago Araújo, João Carvalho, Tiago Gouveia, Delos and João Carlos were starters.
At 17', a free kick for Benfica for a foul by Ndiaye on Musa and Grimaldo hitting the crossbar.
At 30', Enzo, with a brilliant pass, served Rafa, but the number 27, with just Dani Figueira to beat, missed the target by inches. At halftime, 0-0 was the score at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota.
Match commentary
Both teams returned from the dressing rooms with no changes, but two minutes later, on the 47th minute, Estoril suffered a setback. Referee Fábio Veríssimo showed a red card to Francisco Geraldes after fouling Rafa. In the free kick, Grimaldo forced Dani Figueira to a great effort to avoid the goal (48').
A few minutes later, Estoril could do nothing but contemplate in the front row the art of Neres, who painted, in a half bicycle kick, the path to the last 16 of the Portuguese Cup for Benfica. João Mário's cross on the right, Dani Figueira had a poor approach and Neres, in acrobatic fashion, making the 0-1 (66').
The match ended with Benfica winning, by 0-1, thanks to a beautiful goal by Neres, which guarantees, for the 7th time in a row, the presence in the round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup.
The eagles now turn to the last game of the Liga Bwin before the World Cup break, against Gil Vicente, Sunday, November 13, at 6 pm, at Estádio da Luz.
