"Only in dreams it could be better", Gonçalo Ramos reacts to his hat-trick in Benfica's victory against Midtjylland (4-1) on the night of Tuesday, August 2, in the first leg of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League.

"It was a great match, a great way to start the season and show our supporter our football and our attitude. I think the result speaks for itself",reacted the forward, in the flash interview area.

"Only in dreams could it be better than this [scoring three goals in the first official match of the season]. Now it's time to focus on the next game. We have accomplished our first objective here, which was to go into the 2nd leg in the lead, but before that we still have a match for the Championship and we are focused on that game", he claimed, referring to the match against Arouca in the Liga Bwin (matchday 1), on Friday, August 5, at Estádio da Luz (8:15 pm).

As for the Benfiquistas, Gonçalo Ramos described the atmosphere in the Cathedral as "fantastic".

"The atmosphere was fantastic, I was missing it. It's good to feel that we are back with the same strength", finished the eagles' number 88.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
