THE TROPHIES AT LUZ

Pizzi, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's 32-year-old midfielder, moves to Al Wahda, United Arab Emirates, ending an eagle's journey that began in the 2014/15 season. The Portuguese international ends his cycle at the Club with the conquest of 10 titles, with particular emphasis on four National Championships.

Pizzi's contractual link with Benfica was consummated on July 31, 2013, when the CMVM was informed of the acquisition of 50% of the economic and sporting rights of the athlete from the Spaniards of Atlético Madrid.

However, Pizzi stayed in Spain for one more season, on loan at Espanyol Barcelona. There, in 2013/14, he made 34 appearances and scored four goals.

On October 5, 2014, in the home match against Arouca, for matchday 7 of the National Championship, the midfielder wore the Benfica jersey for the first time.

From then on, Pizzi gradually gained space in the team and bagged his first national trophies in 2014/15, winning the National Championship and the League Cup.

Pizzi won three more Championshipsone Portuguese Cup and another League Cup, reaching 10 trophies, and becoming one of the team captains.

He carried out 360 official matches, in which he scored 94 goals and provided close to fifty assists, with the 2019/20 season standing out as the most outstanding in individual terms, in which he scored 30 goals in 51 games, which covered part of a calendar year(2019) in a great level.

On February 8, 2022, Pizzi was loaned out to Basaksehir until the end of the season. In Turkey, he took part in 10 matches, scored one goal and provided one assist.

It should be noted that, alongside this path, Pizzi, playing for the National Team, bagged 17 caps, in which he scored three goals, and was among the winners of the League of Nations in 2018.-

He participated in Benfica's pre-season under Roger Schmidt, and is now starting a new stage in his career in the United Arab Emirates, at Al Wahda.
