Benfica Luís Castro Coach B Team Football

Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that Luís Castro signed a contract until 2024 and will take over as head coach of the B team next season.

After leading the Under-23s for almost three seasons and having led the Under-19 team to two UEFA Youth League finals, in 2019/20 and 2021/22, the latter in which he ensured the unprecedented conquest of the trophy for the Club, the 42-year-old coach now embraces a new professional challenge at the top level of Benfica's Youth Football.

"It is a huge pride! I joined Benfica two and a half years ago with the mission to help in the process and potentiate players for the first team. It is a sign that the work so far has been very well done, this bet on me makes me proud and what I can promise is that I will give my best", claimed the coach.

The start of the pre-season of SL Benfica's B team is scheduled for June 27.
