Fernando Pimenta won four gold medals at the Sprint World Cup in Poznan, Poland

Fernando PimentaBenfica's canoeist, won four gold medals in four finals held this Sunday, May 29, in Poznan (Poland), at the Canoeing Sprint World Cup.  Teresa Portela, João Ribeiro and Messias Baptista also won gold medals.

Fernando Pimenta started the day winning in K1 1000 meters, with a time of 3:27.91 minutes, with Australian Thomas Green in second place. With his first gold medal under his belt, the Benfica athlete advanced to the K1 500-meter final, where, with 1:39.18 minutes, he beat Jackson Collins, also an Australian, to win the second gold medal of the day.

The third gold medal was won by another "benfiquista" in the boat, namely Teresa Portela. The two Glorioso athletes, in K2 500 meters, beat the Swedish duo formed by Martin Nathell and Melina Andersson, in 1:35.03 minutes.
