Taarabt: "We could have scored the third goal and ended the game"

Taarabt opened the scoring Estádio do Bessa, at 21', but Benfica drew against Boavista (2-2), on gameweek 23 of the Liga Bwin.

"We played well in the first half. We could have scored the third goal and ended the game. We didn't, and I don't think we played that well in the second half, but we still had two good chances to score another goal. We didn't take them and that's how the game ended [with a 2-2 draw]. Benfica controlled the entire first half", he said in the flash interview area. 

"At half-time, the gaffer told us we should start the second half as we played in the first half, but we didn't succeed. Even so, I repeat, we had two chances through Rafa and Gonçalo Ramos. If we had scored, the game would have ended there", he completed.

For Taarabt, sharing the spoils is disappointing, because in Benfica, only victory matters, especially when you have a two-goal advantage.

"When you play at this club, you must win. When the result is a draw, it is hard to accept", he claimed.

In addition to the goal scored, the midfielder finished the match with 86% pass accuracy (38 out of 44), three successful dribbles out of five, and nine duels won in the 12 he was involved in the 72 minutes he was on the pitch.
