With two goals, Darwin certified Benfica's 2-1 win against Santa Clara on matchday 22 of the Liga Bwin, on Saturday night, February 12. The brace of the eagles' number 9 at Estádio da Luz earned him the status of top scorer in the competition (18 goals) and also the "Man of the Match" award.

"I am very happy for the victory and for the team's commitment. On an individual level, I am very happy, I am in a very good phase.  Now we must continue to work and think about the next game", confessed the forward, who arrives at the stage of the Championship with an average of one goal per game (he took part in 18 of the 22 matches of the team).

"It's always nice to win at home. In the second goal, when I saw Roman [Yaremchuk] making the diagonal, I knew he was going to cross backwards, because he had no way to shoot at the goal. I tried to put myself in the second post with the objective of scoring the goal. That's what happened, fortunately", described the player.
