SL Benfica and SC Braga played, this Sunday, the final of the Portuguese Cup. At the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra, triumph for SC Braga by 2-0.

"First of all I want to congratulate SC Braga for winning the Portuguese Cup. Everyone saw what happened. A referee who ends up ruining a game [at minute 16/17], a final that was going to be well played, with excellent players, 22 excellent players, in which unfortunately three people, plus the people who are in VAR, got it wrong", began by saying Pizzi.

"The red card is at the beginning, but it complicated the game for us. We had five, six days to prepare the game, a final, everyone focused to do things the best way possible.  Until that moment, it was a well-played game, with excellent players, and it ends up being what it is. Now we have to congratulate Braga, and we will think about next season. We still have many things to win", he analyzed.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.
