The Portuguese national team, formed by four Sport Lisboa e Benfica athletes, won, this Sunday, the bronze medal in the final of the 4x200 meters men's relay World Championships, held in Chorzow, Poland.

Delvis Santos, Frederico Curvelo, Diogo Antunes and André Prazeres completed the relay with the second best national mark ever: 1.24,53. Further up on the podium were the national teams of Germany (1.22.43) and Kenya (1.24.26).

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.
