STATEMENTS

Called by Jorge Jesus for the starting XI of Benfica against Bournemouth (2-1), scored the opener with a left foot shot. At the end of the match, Taarabt praised the red coach and left a promise.

"It was a good test for us, to add minutes. We did well. We’re not the way we want yet, but we’ll improve substantially to be ready in two weeks [to start the official season]", assured the midfielder to BTV. 

"It’s awesome to work with Jorge Jesus. Everybody knows he’s a great coach, he works a lot and we also work a lot every day. We know what he wants from us, attacking and defending, and we’re trying to do what the coach wants", explained Adel Taarabt.
