The team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, commanded by Luís Castro, was defeated by Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League final. The eagles were better during the 90 minutes, deserved another result, but the Spanish managed to get a 2-3 win.

Youth League: Henrique Araújo is a reinforcement for the final

The morning after the match in which they beat Juventus, in Nyon, and secured the presence in the final of the UEFA Youth League 2021/22, Benfica's team started the recovery and preparation for the final of the competition, to be played against Salzburg at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 25, at the Sports Center in Colovray, Switzerland. Henrique Araújo joined the working group and trained this Saturday, April 23. The forward's call-up stems from the fact that Samuel Soares' red card in the semi-final match opened a vacancy for a player over 19 years of age.

Countdown to the clash against Juventus

Benfica held the first training session on Swiss soil before facing Juventus at 1 pm on Friday, April 22, at the Colovray Stadium in Nyon in a UEFA Youth League semi-final match. The men under Luís Castro harpened the last strategic lines for the clash with the Italians with a favorable historical ballast, since Benfica in the three times it reached this stage always went on to the final, which it never won. Eliminating Juventus, Benfica will face the winner of Atletico Madrid-Salzburg on Monday, April 25, at 5:00 pm.
