STATEMENTS

Telma Monteiro will compete at the Paris Grand Slam, which takes place on February 8 and 9. The judoka from Benfica is aiming to reach the podium to amass more points in the world ranking.

"I've been at the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv, where I finished in fifth place and I got a few more points. This will be the second competition and then the other Grand Slams. Depending on the results, I will adjust my agenda, because the most important thing is not to compete too much, but train well and prepare the specific fights against specific opponents that I'll face in the Olympic Games", claimed the athlete in statements with BTV.

"The draw hasn't come out yet, but I'm sure I'll face the strongest in my category. If it goes well, it means I'm winning fights and that's a good thing. We always have to want to fight against the best and win", she stressed.
