Godfried Frimpong, a 20-year-old left-back (21.04.1999), extended his contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica until 2024.

Frimpong was still a U-17 player, in 2015/16, he joined the Club, coming from Sparta Rotterdam.

“I feel very good, it's a moment I've been waiting for. Since I came to Benfica five years ago, I've been waiting for this opportunity. It's good to have this confidence from the club. Benfica helped me to grow as a player, to become more confident and giving me this opportunity means that I can believe in myself”, he said in statements with BTV.

Frimpong Estádio da Luz

In the current season, he took part in 19 matches. Frimpong played 12 matches in the LigaPro (2nd Tier), a competition in which he scored 1 goal, and also carried out 3 encounters in the Premier League International Cup and 4 games in the Liga Revelação.

“I'm very happy for this moment and I will do everything for Benfica”, promised the defender.
