Vinícius: the debutant of the century

New signing from Benfica for 2019/20, Vinícius spent the Christmas with 16 goals scored. In the 21st century, no other striker did better in his debut season with Benfica's jersey.

The Official Website researched the goals of the strikers who wore the Sacred Mantle in this century, gathered the figures in all official competitions at the Christmas season and elaborated the top 5 of goals scorers in their debut season at Luz.

With 11 goals scored in Liga NOS 2019/20, Vinícius is the competition's top scorer, alongside his teammate Pizzi.

Vinícius has scored 11 goals in the Liga NOS, four in the Portuguese Cup and one in the Champions League.

1^st GOAL

Vinícius' first goal with the Sacred Mantle took place on August 10, in a game from matchday 1 of the National Championship.

From the first to the last goal a few months have passed. It was on December 8, against SC Braga in the last 16 of the Portuguese Cup, that the number 95 hit the net for the last time.

A fantastic start for a striker who, it should be remembered, is only in his first season playing for Benfica.
