Pizzi, with a goal and an assist, played an importamt role in the 3-0 victory against Zenit nin the last match of the Champions League. (Group G) The midfielder was happy for reaching the Europa League.

“After failing our main goal, which was to reach the Champions League’s Round of 16, we managed to get the qualification for the Europa League, our second goal. We did a great game, very focused since the first moment and we gave Zenit no chances to score. The win is entirely fair”, considered.

The Portuguese international still analyzed the match…

“We knew that Zenit would play very closed. The first half was like that, and we were not able to play so well, but we started better on the second half. We played amazingly and the entire team is to be congratulated”, he finished.

Benfica-Arouca: extended match highlights

Benfica drew (2-2) with Arouca on Sunday, April 13, in a match from matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, played at the Estádio da Luz and marked by controversial refereeing that penalized the Eagles. At half-time there was time to pay tribute to two-time European champion José Augusto (who turned 88), Miccoli (the former player returned to the Cathedral) and the Inspiradoras, who became five-time national champions on Saturday.

Miccoli returned to the Estádio da Luz, where, on Sunday, April 13, during half-time of the Benfica-Arouca (2-2) match of round 29 of the Liga Betclic, he once again set foot on the pitch. Proud and grateful to the Benfica fans and the club, the former striker - who wore the Manto Sagrado in 2005/06 and 2006/07 - was greeted with applause from the fans, who watched images of some of his best moments with the eagle on his chest, in this beautiful tribute! “Go Benfica! Always,” shared the former player.

A heartfelt tribute to José Augusto!

Two-time European champion, synonymous with the Sport Lisboa e Benfica mystique, José Augusto was honored on Sunday, April 13, the day of his 88th birthday. During half-time of the Benfica-Arouca match, on matchday 29 of the Liga Betclic, he was applauded by the Benfiquistas and thanked for the gesture from the Presidential Tribune. There, in the box, in the presence of President Rui Costa, among José Augusto's friends and family, Happy Birthday was sung to one of the undeniable names in the history of the Glorioso.
