The goal that handed Benfica the triumph in Moreira de Cónegos is part of the striker's most valuable collection.
24 September 2019, 17h00
Seferovic
Seferovic's header in the visit to Moreirense allowed the eagles to amass the fifth victory in six matches in the 2019/20 Liga NOS. A goal as valuable as many others he scored last season.
In 2018/19, on matchday 27, the Swiss international came off the bench to decide the home match against Tondela. In the penalty box, he scored the 1-0 with a header after a cross on the left side, handing Benfica the three points at stake at Estádio da Luz.
Before, and also in the Portuguese top flight, the Reds' number 14 broke the deadlock in the match from round 18, at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, and broke the resistance of Vitória de Guimarães, scoring the winner (0-1).
The same happened, but at Estádio da Luz, against FC Porto (round 7), a match in which, in the second half, he scored the winner after an assist from Pizzi.
Also crucial for the team's success were the two goals he scored in the comeback (4-2) against Rio Ave at the Cathedral, on the night in which Bruno Lage, in round 16, made his debut as Benfica's head coach.
In other competitions, the solving ability of Seferovic catapulted the Reds to success Istanbul in the 1st leg of the Europa League last 32: 1-2 at home against Galatasaray.
Providential, in the last season, was also the goal that the striker scored away at Desportivo das Aves in round 3 of the League Cup group stage. This strike qualified Benfica for the final four of the competition.
