Gedson: "We will work to overcome this moment"

With a result in matchday 5 from Group E of the Champions League, Benfica fell to the Europa League. Gedson Fernandes scored the goal from the Reds against Bayern Munich (5-1).

"I feel sad, just like all my teammates. I am happy for the goal but sad for the result. We will raise our head and we will work to have better results from now on", he stressed.

Gedson came on at the beginning of the second half (replacing Pizzi) and had an instant impact on the match. In the first play of the second half, and after a combination with Jonas, the midfielder from the eagles beat Neuer. The youngster briefly explained what Rui Vitória asked him to do.

"I asked me for commitment, work, and dedication, and I tried to help the team", he revealed.

Asked about the lack of efficacy from the reds during the last matches, Gedson assured that the team will continue to work to overcome this moment.

"The team has lacked efficacy, we have been having goal chances but we have not been able to score. We hope that from now on the results may be better, we will work overcome this moment", he completed.
