Jardel: “We will prepare ourselves well for Fenerbahçe”

Benfica lost at the Estádio Algarve against Lyon, by 2-3. At the end of the encounter for the Eusébio Cup and incorporated in the International Champions Cup, Jardel remembered that this was a preparation match and that next Tuesday it will be an official match.

“The two teams worked well on and off the ball. This match is part of the preparation, we must play matches like this before the competition to be at the highest level. On Tuesday we have a very difficult game”, he stressed.

Benfica finished the pre-season with the match against the French and the balance is positive. For the number 33, the eagles are ready for the first official match.

“Our pre-season was good and objective. We manage to the goals we wanted, we made good matches against good teams. We faced Lyon, a good team, that makes a good ball possession. We pressed well in the first half; in the second half we returned strong and we tied the match. We ended up conceding a goal in the end, but this balance of this game is positive”, he said.

Benfica's focus is now on Fenerbahçe, whose matches are scheduled for the 7th and the 14th of August.

“We know that we will face a tough opponent, but who wants to play the Champions League must face great teams. The match is very important and our focus is on it. We will prepare ourselves well for the match against Fenerbahçe”, he assured.
