Pizzi: Best Player of the 2018/19 Liga NOS

The king of assists (19 assists) and the scorer of 13 goals from the Champions Benfica in the 2018/18 Liga NOS, Pizzi was was elected by the editorial staff of the official UEFA website as Best Player of the Championship.

Seen as fundamental "Benfica's remarkable recovery towards the title, the midfielder Pizzi beat Bruno Fernandes, from Sporting", informed the official page (Portuguese version) of the body that supervises the European football.

"Pizzi's enormous influence in helping Benfica to become champions proved to be decisive", wrote UEFA.com.

UEFA’s official website remembered Pizzi’s hat-trick in the opening round of the 2018/19 Liga NOS, at Estádio da Luz, against Vitória de Guimarães (3-2), and pointed out that he was one of the "standout performers" throughout the season.

In the chapter of assists, the website UEFA.com highlighted the two of which resulted in triumphs, in the “clássicos” at Luz and at Dragão, from Benfica over the rivals FC Porto.

Pizzi, is also one of the seven Benfica players chosen by UEFA's official website for the best eleven of the 2018/19 Liga NOS.
