Bruno Lage: “Focused, organised and with ambition”

The coach of Benfica, Bruno Lage, previewed in a press conference at Caixa Futebol Campus the match from matchday 23 of the Liga NOS against GD Chaves, scheduled for 9:15 pm this Monday, at Estádio da Luz.

What difficulties do you expect to find against of GD Chaves?

Many. The team has been doing an interesting campaign, they bagged points and are fighting to avoid relegation. In this stage of the Championship, these teams are hard to beat for their attitude and for the organization that they display in the game. We expect a lot of difficulties, but we want to do a good game, focused, organized and with the ambition to play well and win the match.

Do you feel more pressure for playing after FC Porto?

The pressure is the same. The huge pressure is put on our work, on me, on doing things right, preparing the right training session, understanding that we have more than 20 players that recover differently and link them to play as a team. Pressure for them to play as a team and understand the strategy. External factors must not worry us.

You have carried out squad rotation, but you have never change the forwards. Why?

In the bench I have a youngster called Jonas, who is eager to do in the match what he does in training. We have five forwards – I include Rafa because he can play in several positions. Jota still has not had the chance to play. We are happy with them all. We analyze the opponent and the strategy.
