With wrong decisions in key moments of the "clássico" – among which a wrongly disallowed goal –, the refereeing team led by Carlos Xistra, who had Fábio Veríssimo in the role of the video-referee, ended up blocking Benfica's path in the fight for the access to the League Cup final in the head to head with FC Porto at the Municipal de Braga (1-3).

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Close to the half-time, Benfica, scored the equalizer after a quick transition... but the refereeing team did not allow.

[PIZZI'S DISALLOWED GOAL] It was the 2-2 at 45'+2', in a legal play, which, however, the refereeing team did not consider as such. The assistant Nuno Pereira raised the flag to signal Rafa's offside; the video-referee intervened and Carlos Xistra decided to invalidate the equalizer... without reviewing the images of the play.
