The Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD has communicated to the Securities Market  Commission (CMVM) the transfer of João Carvalho to Nottingham Forest, of England, for an amount of 15 million euros.

The agreement celebrated between Benfica and the English club still includes the right of a 25% added value obtained in a future transfer of the midfielder trained at Caixa Futebol Campus.

With the red jersey, João Carvalho was launched by the coach Rui Vitória in 2017/18, the season when the U21 Portuguese international was called for the Benfica’s first team.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

António Silva was the spokesman for the Benfica team that booked their ticket to the Portuguese Cup final after beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final. The central defender scored the first goal of the game.
