The centre-back recently became a U-19 national champion and extends his connection with Benfica until 2023.
24 May 2018, 14h00
Newly-crowned national champion, Miguel Nóbrega, born on April 17, 2000, completes his sixth season with the eagles' shirt. Before starting his journey at Benfica in 2012/13, the 18-year-old defender represented Nacional da Madeira and prior to that, Marítimo, two emblems from the island where he was born.
In the current season, Miguel Nóbrega played 17 matches for the U-19 team and scored one goal, that curiously opened the scoring in the victory over Leixões (3-1) in the afternoon that would end with the celebration of the national title, at Caixa Futebol Campus. The centre-back also played a match in the UEFA Youth League.
With a path in the national youth squad, Miguel Nóbrega is an international since November 2015, having played four times for the U-16 and two for the U-18.
