“It is a feeling of great happiness to be here in a club of this dimension. It's a dream come true, a big step I take in my young career”, said Ebuehi, exclusively, in his first day at Estádio da Luz.
Ebuehi began his professional career at the age of 18, in Holland. With a Den Haag's jersey, the emblem that launched him, he played more than 80 official matches, having stood out in the last two seasons. When Benfica knocked at his door, the answer could only be one, for the reasons the defender explained in the moment of formalizing the change.
“Benfica is a big club, with excellent conditions. It is known worldwide. The fact of always being in the big stages was very appealing to me. In fact, it was very easy to choose Benfica”, he confessed.
In almost perfect Portuguese, Ebuehi already shows the commitment to “the best Portuguese club”. “I know that is in recent years the club has been champion and has a tradition in Europe. It is a big club”, said the full-back, leaving a few words to the Benfica fans.
“From me, the supporters can expect work. I want to help the team fight for its objectives”, said Ebuehi, who was included in Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup. “I hope I can play in the World Cup. It is the dream of any player. I hope to be in Russia”, he commented.
