Women's football
Filipa Patão, coach of the four-time national football champions, received the award for Best Coaching Staff in the Liga BPI for the months of August and September, after winning the vote in which the coaches of the other teams in the competition took part. "It's very gratifying to be recognized by the coaches who work for the evolution of women's football," she said to BTV. The Benfica coach is also among the six nominees for Best Coach of the Year in women's football, a distinction from France Football and UEFA: "It's significant because of the message it sends out about our country, because she's a Portuguese coach who's in the Liga BPI, and that's very important for our country's ambitions in women's football."
