A heartfelt and emotionally charged tribute to Sven-Göran Eriksson, the coach who led Benfica for five seasons (1982/83 and 1983/84, and 1989/90 to 1991/92), was what we saw on Thursday, April 11, at the Estádio da Luz, before and during the Benfica-Marseille Europa League quarter-finals first leg. Former Glorioso players, who were coached by the Swedish coach, joined in the tribute, which was expressed in the gratitude of the almost 55,000 spectators present at the Cathedral. Memorable!
